The Peak District is situated in the middle of England about 50km from Manchester (1 hour) and about 200km from London (3 hours).
 
By Air: Distances to the main airports,

  • Nottingham East Midlands (NEMA) about 50km (1.5 hours)

By Sea:

By train: at airport get train connection to Manchester Picccadily station, then train to Buxton.
By road: take M56 and then M60 motorway to Stockport, then A6 to Buxton.
By bus: take Trent Barton Skyline Service 199 to Buxton.
To Peak District from Nottingham East Midlands Airport
By bus: take bus to Derby railway station or bus station.
By road: Follow signs for A50 in Stoke direction to A515 junction. Then follow A515 north to Ashbourne.
To Peak District from Birmingham International Airport
By train: take train to Birmingham New Street station, then train to Derby.
By road: take M42 heading north, then A42 and M1 heading north.

Motorway M1 from the south. Take junction 24 and follow A50 in Stoke direction to A515 junction. Then follow A515 north to Ashbourne.
Motorway M1 from the north. Take Junction 28 then follow signs to Matlock (A38 then A615).
Motorway M60 Junction 27. Then follow signs to Buxton (A6 road).
Motorway M6 Junction 17. Then follow signs to Congleton (A534). From Congleton take A53 to Leek. From Leek take A523 to Ashbourne.
